ACB Foundation
The foundation ACB was formed in 1998 by (legal) professional associations and businesses -among which the Dutch Employers Association VNO-NCW that saw a need for a high-quality infrastructure in the field of conflict management and commercial mediation representing their interests.

Objective and mission
ACB
's objective is to secure the quality of business mediators and business mediaton provider services in the interest of the users, as well as to promote the use of appropriate dispute resolution in commercial conflicts. The foundations objective is furthered by research and development of new forms of dispute resolution, organizing Round Tables and making available international assessments and Reviews for IMI (International Mediation Institute) certification
.

Founders and funding
The founding members of ACB are 18 companies, 11 large law firms as well as 4  consulting organizations. More info.
Starting from 2003 more member organizations joined the foundation. Including the year 2008 member organizations as well as VNO-NCW have supported the foundation financially. More info.
The Foundation currently operates through income generated by the services that ACB offers, general support by business ADR providers recognized by ACB like Result ACB, as well as funding and subsidies for specific projects.

Since November 1st 2010  the Foundation operates under the name ACB Foundation instead of ACB Mediation.
